AT&T* has expanded its 5G network in Montgomery County, giving residents, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. A new cell tower will enhance the area’s coverage and capacity, and help customers unlock the power of America’s Most Reliable 5G Network1.
This new site will enhance AT&T’s coverage and capacity on Highway 13 in southwestern Montgomery County and in northeastern portions of Houston County, TN.
“Whether we’re talking about closing the digital divide, driving online commerce, keeping people connected, or delivering the communications capabilities first responders need, private investment is vital,” said state Sen. Bill Powers (District 22). “That’s why I am continually working with my legislative colleagues to promote public policies that encourage the deployment of advanced technology in all parts of our state, not just in the major cities.”
The new site will also bring Band 14 spectrum to the area. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane. In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked just for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity.

From 2020-2022, AT&T invested nearly $1.4 billion in its wireless and wireline networks in Tennessee to connect more people to greater possibility.
