AT&T Upgrades Wireless Network Across New Jersey

AT&T* was busy in New Jersey this year, expanding its wireless network with several new cell sites across the state. Additionally, even more new sites are planned to come online in the coming weeks.

In total, this dedicated network expansion and upgrades are giving residents, first responders, businesses and visitors a big boost in their wireless connectivity. The enhanced coverage and capacity will help provide a better network experience to customers. We’re working to not only boost network reliability and capacity but also expand broadband nationwide to help bridge the digital divide.

In New Jersey, new sites are boosting coverage in:

  • Brielle
  • Kinnelon
  • Rockaway
  • Spotswood
  • Hillside
  • Trenton
  • Bordentown
  • Camden
  • Cape May

We understand how a connection can make the difference. That’s why our mission is to bring connectivity to everyone, no matter where they live or where they come from. In New Jersey, we invested more than $1.9 billion in our network infrastructure from 2019-2023.

“At AT&T, we’re continuing to invest in our mobile broadband network in communities across New Jersey to make wireless connections easier for residents, visitors, businesses and first responders. These new sites connect our customers to greater possibility,” said John Emra, President, AT&T Atlantic Region.

From rural communities to urban areas, our overall wireless voice and data network covers more than 99% of all Americans, including New Jersey. Our 5G network today reaches more than 295 million people in more than 24,500 cities and towns across the U.S. with our mid-band spectrum available nationwide, covering more than 210 million people.

  • We’re working with businesses from manufacturing to healthcare to create new innovations and increase efficiencies with AT&T 5G.
  • We’re ramping up performance in high traffic areas, like airports, stadiums and venues, including:
    • MetLife Stadium
    • Red Bull Stadium
    • Newark Liberty International Airport

These enhancements also bring Band 14 spectrum to the areas. Band 14 is nationwide, high-quality spectrum set aside by the government specifically for FirstNet, Built with AT&T® the only nationwide communications network created with and for public safety. We look at Band 14 as public safety’s VIP lane.

In an emergency, this band – or lane – can be cleared and locked exclusively for FirstNet subscribers. When not in use by FirstNet subscribers, AT&T customers can enjoy Band 14’s added coverage and capacity. FirstNet connects public safety agencies, first responders, and organizations in more than 340 cities in New Jersey
